Gear S2 Unpacked
KurzdarstellungIn 2015, Samsung reinterpreted, reinvented and redefined “The Symbol Of Wholeness” with the launch of the Samsung Gear S2. The first circular smartwatch allowed users to handle it intuitively, creating a next-level user experience. For its launch event during the IFA in Berlin, Cheil Germany created a booth in collaboration with Messebau Tünnissen GmbH that both reflected the product’s features and made its functions come alive like never before: A rendering of the smartwatch 1.400 visitors could step into, completely immersing themselves in the experience of exploring the new device during the course of the two-hour event.
Utilizing a lightshow that underlined the clock theme and working with different booth layers made it possible to blend keynote and exhibition seamlessly. With the speaker’s stage converted to the product highlight area later during the evening, both the physical and metaphorical center of the event was marked. Around it, visitors discovered each of the product’s features in their own theme worlds. Mirrored walls were used to separate them from each other, creating the optical illusion of a never-ending clock – just like the Gear S2 itself and the possibilities it provides.
